Song by Wire from their 1977 debut album Pink Flag.

This is Squier Jaguar bass, Tokai Tele, DM-1 drums and two vocals. And all very staccato.  Captured, mixed and mastered in GarageBand but without any GB instruments.

This song was sampled by Elastica for their song Connection, some 20 years later.

Tidy cover Nick. Not a song I remember although I'm sure I must have heard it on the John Peel show !

I don't remember hearing this song, but that doesn't mean i haven't. At least now i have and in the best possible way. As i've learned to expect that ODH always improves on the original.

It's short, it's sweet. It's relaxed, yet it's rock. It's alternative before alternative was a thing. It's not bloated that's for sure.

Musically this fits ODH like a Bananarama t-shirt and a mighty grin!

Good stuff!

I know this song well (much of Pink Flag is in my sights for this fest, if I can find the time), and you did a fab cover. Very faithfully done, and it's got your own unique stamp on it.

Well done!

I'm not familiar with this song Nick but your version sure sounds good! It's short but gets right to the point. A cool recording and mix. Excellent vocals!

I am with Farrell on this.  I am not familiar with this song, and I am so grateful to have heard this from you.  Very nice recording.

I prefer yours to the original if for nothing else, the dry drums on the original gave me an ear worm. I love the way this tune is constructed. The main riff gets hypnotizing. Really cool post.
