"The One I Love" is a song by American alternative rock band R.E.M. It was released on the band's fifth full-length studio album, Document, and also as a 7" vinyl single in 1987.

In March 2005, Q magazine placed "The One I Love" at No. 57 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. In 2012, Slant Magazine listed the song as the 38th best single of the 1980s.

This song is dedicated to all the girls I've loved before.
Of course to my lovely wife, Mimi, most especially!!!

this is a song and a band I didn't know, simple and pretty, I like your shooting decor, it looks like a music store? what microphone do you use?
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I never was much for R.E.M, but i'm very much for this wonderful performer called Rene!

I didn'dt recognize the song by the title, but as soon as the first lines came out it was instantly familiar. Stylistically this is quite close to the original, but shaves away some of the harder edges of the original (especially playing wise). The guitar playing is suitably understated using only a few carefully chosen turn arounds to add contrast to the accompanient.
The vocals are superb like i've come to expect coming from Rene :)

Superb!

Wonderful rendition of a classic REM song..it really works in the way you performed it. Like Kenny, this was a song I used to play in my band back in the 90's.

I watched a few test videos of this Ear Trumpet Labs Edwina microphone...it looks like a pretty good microphone...a little expensive for me :(
