Ok, Track 10 of Hall & Oates 1st album Whole Oats, only 1 to go. This one was hard, the instrumental section(difficult key change) made it quite difficult. In fact this has been the only track I haven't been able to play through, start to finish. HB Tenor Banjo, Vangoa mandolin, br80.
1 banjo/vocal(stereo)
1 banjo (stereo)
2 mandolin
2 background/harmony vocals

Because the Hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back

Lovely job Hook! Those harmonies are to die for and the beautiful mandolin is a wonderful addition. Very strange bridge in this song I can see why it was difficult to pull off (but you certainly did!). Makes me want to listen back to the original to see how they did it...

This is a really ambitious song, Hook, but you pull it off in your own truly unique style.

I don't know the original but this is marvelous.

A difficult song to deliver I love the mando playing on this song

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Another banjo success.
Vocals really fit your tune.
Very nice recording.

Kudos for this one and in fact taking on a whole album is mighty impressive. It's true that mandolin work is excellent. You made this sound earthy and intimate with those lovely acoustic instruments. Lovely stuff.

I'm sorry that I've not commented on every track you've covered from this album as I'd just sound repetitive - I've loved each track even though I've never heard the original album. Love the banjo and your vocals are always a pleasure to hear !
