Being a bit naughty here. Get it On is from the 1971 (absolutely monster) Album 'Electric Warrior', and charted in the UK as a single late in '71. However, it didn't get released until Spring '72 in the USA under the title 'Bang a Gong', and remains (I think) the only Bolan song that got anywhere in the USA. Which is strange, because T-Rex had Beatles levels of fame and hysteria in the UK at the time.

Watching the video of Bolan doing this in a pink satin jacket and mickey mouse t-shirt was hugely influential on me wanting to play guitar and having a Les Paul (one day!).

This is my lovely Epiphone stripped-mahogany Les Paul (limited edition Epiphone custom shop), Ibanez bass, vocals, and GB drums, piano and strings.

Top cover Tim, you've nailed the Bolan boogie sound on the guitars and a great vocal as usual ! 1972 was the year I started buying singles and I have quite a few T.Rex ones from that time.. Telegram Sam, Metal Guru, Solid Gold Easy Action...Teenage Dream..

Naughty but nice :)  The guitars are groovy and the vocals are to the point! Rocks like a moose i'd say!

We have to wait for a year for the 20th Century Boy...

I have to say, as a Canadian, this is pretty much the only T Rex I know! :) Not sure why they weren't as big across the pond as this song is absolutely TIMELESS. It could be put out today and still be a hit I think. You captured all the elements here, especially with the swagger in your voice. Love the falsetto parts and the rippin little guitar solo in the middle. You certainly have a knack for covers Tim!

Loved T Rex in the 70's and this cover brought me right back there well done

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

This suits you well. I considered doing this one. Played this in bars around town. Well done sir.

Mighy fine - put a big smile on my face as it takes me back to my open mic days - not me playing it though unfortunately  :)
