Rebel Girl - Bikini Kill/Linda Lindas

I'm at it again. 
This time, with a cover of the legendary Bikini Kill song Rebel Girl.
Rebel Girl was more recently resurrected in the teen movie Moxies by The Linda Lindas, which sparked my interest again.

Recorded in my bedroom, with help from a friend on backing vocals, using Presonus Studio One & iPad GarageBand.

Well I don't know anything about the beautiful Linda's but I can sure tell this rocks to the moon and back.... killer bass right out of the gate.  killer bass...killer bass... did I mention I love the bass?  The guitar is just right not keep the forward momentum and flush out the willy's (that feeling down the spine) but it doesn't overtake the bass...drums rock too.  Great vocals as well...yes another download for the collection in the car.

Sooo good. I don't know the song or the band, but like Steve all I know is this rocks the shit outta me. Great balance in the sound. Love the steamroller rhythm of the bass and guitar just chugging away. Killer stuff.

listening again and again.... it strikes me that I could hear one of my favorites doing this song (Joan Jett)... it's the kind of stuff she does and she rocks big time.

Oh yes I knew I was in for a treat at the very start with the driving bass, Loving it all the rest of the recording is spot on well done Guitars vocals and that great bass all balanced in the recording

Well spotted. As it happens, there's a fair dollop of JJ on this song. She produced the Bikini Kill single & helped out on guitar too.
