One of my all-time favourite bands, so very happy this fest was up for voting and won. So many challenging & interesting songs to choose from, but I thought I'd kick it off with this one. I didn't try to do anything especially different with it, but at the same time couldn't work out how exactly they did certain things / parts (which may be a pattern for this fest - I recall Eno saying he didn't know how he did the solo part in Virginia Plain and could never recreate it again!), so it was never going to be totally faithful to the original.

MiM Strat, Ibanez Bass, Vocals, and a bit of synth on the 'solo'.

Great start to the Roxy Music Fest Tim. Love what you've done here and great to hear a cover of a band that really isn't covered much !

Roxy were one of my favourite bands during my early teens and onwards and I spent many a night at the Roxy/Bowie nights at Bluto's in Wigan during the late 70's. Certainly a challenging band to cover - my own work-in-progress is going to take longer than I hoped.

I dug the vocals, guitar, instrumentation, but that square-waved tremolo is so cool. Great guitar (and I always dig your bass).

Great choice and kickoff for the fest. Love how you did the guitars and the vocal on this - it's got your stamp. The bar has been set very high.

I've got one I'm exploring now, and have already found it more challenging than I expected. I need to practice some more...

I must admit I don't know much at all about Roxy Music but damn is this ever good. Perfect vocals and stellar lead guitar work (and bass!). This is more power Pop than I thought roxy music would be, sounds a bit like a sparks track. Wicked

Greeny you are a reference for me....always excellent performance recording
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

wow... I did vote for this fest, but I only know a little of this band.  Figured it would force me to listen a bit more.... but I love this cover of yours...your lead guitar reminds me of a cross between southern rock and something Matthew Sweet or The Heartbreakers or Tragically Hip would do...singing sounds great as well as the bass as Blooby mentioned,

Fantastic job Tim. Dig the synth lead in. Guitars are cool as hell.

This is such a swirly piece of perfection! I'm also a Roxy Music and a Ferry fan so this is going to be a great fest to enjoy! Cool stuff! So much stuff going on :)

You took a classic Roxy track and made it into a classic Greeny track! Love the swirly guitar and the vocal treatment. This really does have your own unique take on it and it works really well. The synth is a nice touch and overall this is a belter of a track, well done!
