I asked John if I could (attempt) to cover one of his early numbers....this kicked my arse...This songcrafters style cannot be duplicated so here is my vain attempt to cover this raucous track....

3 rhythm tracks of the les paul allusing low number patches in the br1600.
1 lead track... ditto
schecter bass straight and clean DI
alesis drums stereo track
crazy vocals x 3 using zoom r24 mics...main vox have eq, phaser, chorus, reverb
bkg tracks reverb

The spoken word intro makes it sound like you're channeling Lou Reed. The original actually has that vibe to it also. You got a nice groove going here and the backing vocals add another layer of excitement to this.

Absolute rocker. It's like Iggy Pop fronted AC/DC. Brilliant

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

A good cover of John's rocker! I like all the extra backing voices you've added Stephen and your crunchy guitar work is top notch.

Just checked out John's original too. It's a belter of a track and yeah you've done a great job here Stephen. You have somehow manged to keep a faithful link to the original style, but of course you have put your own strong identity on it. Like those wild backing vocals and your hit overdrive with the soloing. Awesome job.

Great choice of cover Steve. You stayed true to the original but gave it your own feel, I really like the width and crunch of the rhythm guitars and the drum work is great, that really makes it sound a bit different. The backing vocals work really well and (as usual) there's some great lead work going on. Really punchy production makes this a rock classic, as great interpretation of John's original. Very nice work indeed!
