Since it was sung by Aznavour, this forest has become a star
Words are stronger than things. If this little wood had not been called "Trousse-Chemise", and if Charles Aznavour had not made a song about it, these trees that grew by the sea would not be more famous than those next door. Nor would the place be marked by road signs several kilometers in advance, like the Baleines lighthouse or any other place supposedly worth a visit.

To be honest, Trousse-Chemise Wood is not particularly worth the trip. It is neither the prettiest, nor the largest, nor the oldest on an island where there are so many things to see. On the other hand, it is the one that has received the most beautiful name.

Why this name of shirt kit?

For some, it refers to the time when you had to lift your shirt to cross the ford of Loix at low tide without getting wet. For others, it would be a tribute to those who had shown their buttocks to the English who were finally chased off the island.

In the small wood of Trousse Chemise
When the sea is gray and we are a little gray also*           ..........* old french expression "etre gris" means "to be slightly drunk
In the small wood of Trousse Chemise
We made mistakes , do you remember?, both of us
We went to Trousse Chemise
Stalked by old ladies behind their shutters
We went with a flower on the ear
With two bottles of real Muscadet

we swam in Trousse Chemise
The beach deserted was for no one but us
we bathed in the discovery
The sea was green, and you were a little green
We had in the woods of Trousse chemise
Lunch on the grass, but then suddenly
I wanted in a great momentum
to conjugate the verb to "love the next one".

And I knocked down in Trousse Chemise
Despite your prayers to reluctantly
And I spilled the wine from our glasses
Your light dress and your seventeen
When we got back from Trousse Chemise
The sea was gray, you were no longer gray
When we returned life took you back...
You packed your suitcase.. you never came back.

They cut the wood in Trousse Chemise
It rains on the beach off-seasons
They cut wood, the wood of the cage
Where my heart was too nice in its prison.

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

The acoustic guitar sounds just plain glorious! Both sound and playing wise. I get a kind of a Pierre Bachelet vibe from this rendition and it's not only because of the french lyrics.

You're really great at using BIAB and sounds to me that the program has gone a long way. I checked it out ages ago and then it was quite "general midi" sounding :) Here everything sounds perfect.

I love music like this. It reminds me of being in Brittany with my pastis. It's so lovingly performed - with emotion and passion. Has a bit of the Jaques Brel melancholy and intensity about it. So beautiful.

Exactly, but , by example h there are now "realtracks" which are in fact samples in waves, and played on "real instruments" by real musicians, by example Harp celtic is played by Sharlene Wallace

Lovely work JP, it really has an Aznavour/Brel feel about it and it's beautifully done. I really liked your vocals on this one.

But please keep all those French buttocks to yourself..... ;) :D
