New version with Ken's beautiful drumming (from about 1:30). Thanks Ken!!!
Rock on!

Ciao friends, here's another one Tim sent me yesterday finished. The backtrack I prepared was an exercise on the mixolydian scale, that is to say the well known rock trick to change the C G F prog to C Bb F. But Tim turned this exercise into an almost rolling stones soulful ballad, adding electric licks, harp and a fantastic bass. He called it:
'Don't Leave Me Blue for You'. ps Optimission ... we want to have a 'rolling stones' jam with you

Don't Leave Me Blue for You

there are too many colours in the world
to be hostage to one hue
give me shelter under your umbrella
and don't leave me blue for you
don't leave me blue for you

give me the spectrum of your sweet love
neon fairgrounds in the grey
kodachrome and technicolour
all the way
all the way

bones getting bleached out in the desert sun
I joined the foreign legion crew
but I spy an oasis with my little eye
so don't leave me blue for you
don't leave me blue for you

give me the spectrum of your sweet love
neon fairgrounds in the grey
kodachrome and technicolour
all the way
tell me what you say
be my weather girl
bringing beautiful days

at the bottom of a bottle's not where I want to be
it's not much of a view
give me shelter under your umbrella
and don't leave me blue for you
don't leave me blue for you

Great collab Guys I love the stripped down ballad version of this Keys and Vocal. yes I could picture this as Stones song

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

This has more than a touch of the Beatles and the stones feel to it. It sounds great. Has that late 60's sound. Excellent music throughout, love that piano melody. And brilliant vocals, like that husky sound to the vocals.

I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

Beautiful piece gents. The instrumentation and arrangement is spectacular. It does indeed have a touch of the Stones in ballad mode, but it's got a whole lot more too. Lovely vocal and a great bit of work all round.

Very nice song guys! Like everything about it. Lyrics/vocals rock and the music fits perfectly!

Couldn't resist jamming along with some drums for a more rock feel (not that it needs it, just how drummers think) 8)

What a beautiful and effective collab. The piano track is really good in its own right, but Tim really takes it in an interesting direction with his additions. I really loved the bass playing and the guitar flourishes really complement the piano. And the lyrics are so imaginative and thoughtful, and of course superbly sung. I absolutely love it, you have a really great combination of musicians here.
