Beatles Fest - John Lennon cover...

I was going to try a George Harrison song but his range was to high for my voice and his arrangements are way too clever and intricate for me. So I started looking through John Lennon's solo stuff. I really like Lennon's solo stuff (and George Harrison's for that matter) and on his Imagine album I came across this tune which seemed a bit unusual for him. It's a bit more rocky and a bit bluesy than usual... so thought I would give it a crack. Fairly simple chords which is always a bonus!

Anyway, I copied the original close enough... upped the rocky guitar a bit more than the original and added a bit more blues style too maybe.

Garageband drums, bass and strings.
1 vocal track.
2 guitar tracks and a couple of solos done at the the end and plonked on top.

Wow this is excellent mate, the guitar tone is superb.
Love the solos.
This was such a vindictive song in its day,still is I suppose ,I believe Harrison played on it as well to turn the knife more.

Superb version Mike, I agree with Steve, it sounds like Pink Floyd covering Lennon! I love your vocals and the guitar work is excellent, lovely tones and great touch. I really liked the arrangement as well, I thought the strings were excellent and really added a great touch to the song. Very nice indeed!
