This is from a couple of years ago. The song title would later be the inspiration of our "collabaritive" name that we used for collaborations afterwards.
Someone thought the song sounded like Devil's toupee ( Devil to pay?)  so i quite liked that name :) Thanks for listening.  Darren & Keith.

DEVIL TO PAY

Ohhh¦ when I was just a baby almost empty in my head
Well my Mama kept on staring she said
Don't want this one, could I have another one instead?
My Daddy got down on one knee...looked me square in the eye

He said

Got a devil in his eyes, he cry with forked tongue
I can't see him breathing, he look a strange one
Wherever he going, whoever he be
He 'aint one of mine, he no part of me
But one things for certain, between you and I
Before this life's over, there's a devil to pay
Devil to pay!

When I was getting older and I'd done what I done
My life finds me drinking womanising, having fun
There's a man at the bar but I can't see his face
I know he looking for me don't belong in this place

He order a drink, he look and he say,
Your devil will pay boy, your devil will pay
He said,

I know where your're going, wherever you are
I'm only one step behind you, there's nowhere to hide (x3)
I am the devil (to pay) I am the devil (to pay) I am the devil (to pay)
Devil to pay
(Who are you?)
Hahaha..The Devil to pay!

I dig your collabs. Well recorded, and now I know about your band name! Always wondered!
Good tune guys.

Rocking track, great to hear a bit of DT history. Love the bluesy guitar and vocals. Even if this is pre Devils Toupee, you guys still got that signature sound down here.

I always wondered where the name came from - now I know LOL. This is a great track, Darren. Keith's vocal is brilliant as always and the production is first class. Love that bluesy groove you got going on in the engine room (drums and bass) and some cool guitar work. You guys come up with excellent songs every time.

This is quite nice....I like that ballsy, deep and dirty bass. Good words, vocals and guitar work! It gives me a Beatle-ish rock vibe in spots, such as Come Together or Helter Skelter, but it's very original.  I did wonder about the band name now I know, lol.  Well done Devil's Toupee!

Loving the heavy groove here, lots of great distortion going on over a really heavy groove. Vocals are great, superb sound and great harmonies. The chorus works really well, a great transition from the verse. The start of a very effective partnership!
