Snakefarmer

Hey all...I used to be a member of the old BR Supergroup on yahoo. Got the update from 64guitars the other day about this site. Looks cool...Looking forward to talking BR stuff with you.

About me: I'm 35, and have been in several different bands here in Austin and use the BR to record ideas and generally help me in my songwriting.

Oh yeah, I own a BR-600 and generally play rockin', swampy, fast music with silly lyics.

Good Day and welcome to the group. By chance are you in the Houston area? On second thought, being a snake farmer you are probably out in west Texas, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I just joined this week, my initial hello is about 5 or 6 entries below yours, for the sake of information... Have a nice day!

Welcome from New England, Snakefarmer. I'm new here myself. Looking forward to hearing your tunes.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

You are in the midst of some amazing talent, as you will soon find out as you sample the wares.  My stuff is posted in the lonely and decrepit BR-1600 room.  (Just about) Everyone else's is in the Micro BR room.  You will see tumbleweeds rolling around in most rooms, but the Micro room is hopping like the disco scene in "Boogie Nights."  I am guessing the BR-600 room has cobwebs.  Maybe you can spice things up in there.

WELCOME!! :D

Based on some of your other posts Bosko, I think you're referring to the Yahoo! BR-1600 group, while Snakefarmer is referring to the Yahoo! Boss BR SuperGroup, of which I am the owner. These are two different groups.

I recently posted the following invitation to the members of the Boss BR SuperGroup:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/BossBr/message/2730

So I guess you can all blame me for the surge in activity that's making it impossible to keep up with the posts. ;D  In my defence, I'd like to point out that only about 16% of the members of my Yahoo! group are Micro BR users, so most of the new activity will be in the newer boards which need it anyway. And I think the activity here had already reached the point where it was almost impossible to keep up with the posts before I sent out that invitation.

Welcome aboard! And warm greetings from London.

You're right, 64G, I was referring to the BR-1600 user's group.  My mistake.  When he said, "Supergroup," I thought he meant the group I was in, but was just being sarcastic.  I bet your Supergroup is NOT in fact a barren wasteland! ;D

Well, it's nothing compared to BossBR.net. The most activity we ever had in the Yahoo! Boss BR SuperGroup was in January 2008 when we had 351 posts. This group (BossBR.net) can get that many posts in a single day! For example, last Tuesday we had 352 posts, and Monday we had 447!

In recent months, the activity in the Yahoo! SuperGroup has dropped off considerably. We only had 26 posts last month and 27 in April. So, you could say it's a barren wasteland. If activity continues to decline, I might close the group. But I'll leave it open for now and see how it goes.

By the way, the Yahoo group was named SuperGroup by the former owner - not me. The reason he called it that is because it was created to replace the individual groups for the BR-532, BR-864, and BR-900. We felt that it made more sense to have one group that covered all of the BRs - hence "BR SuperGroup".
