as I recently built an "experimental" henhouse for the education and enjoyment of my grandson Antonin
I jumped on the opportunity to record this song of the good French singer Alain Souchon
this song is called "poulailler Song", it's from 1977..but still relevant
I put you the lyrics and their translation which are worth the trouble

On the video you can see Jahia who loves her new friends
one is called Megane (she's a Sussex) the other one has no name yet, if you have any suggestions...

Dans les poulaillers d'acajou,
Les belles basses-cours à bijoux
On entend la conversation
D'la volaille qui fait l'opinion
Ils disent

Ils disent

Ils disent

TRADUCTION
In the mahogany chicken coops,
The beautiful jewel barns
You can hear the conversation
Of the poultry that makes the opinion
They say

We can't be nice all the time
You can't love all the people
There's a selection that's normal
We don't all read the same newspaper
But don't get me wrong it's a headache
All these campers under my blinds
But don't get me wrong it's hard to see
What are these people on my diving board

In the mahogany chicken coops,
The beautiful jewel barns
You can hear the conversation
Of the poultry that makes the opinion
They say

You can't love all of Paris
You can't love all of Paris, there are places at night
Where the skins that make you skin
I'm not sure what to do, but I'm not sure what to do
But understand me the djellaba
It's not what you need in our climate
But understand me in Rochechouart
There are cabs that are afraid of the dark

In the mahogany henhouses,
The beautiful jewel barns
You can hear the conversation
Of the poultry that makes the opinion
They say

What are these young people doing sitting on the floor
Dressed up like slobs
They don't seem to like work
It's gonna be a mess
But don't get me wrong, it's disturbing
We live in decadent times
But don't get me wrong, respect is being lost
In my grandfather's factories
But understand me ...

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I love this.

There's a grinning quality in the lyrics and the ham-it-up (or chickened-up) musical performance is both sly and fun.

I love both the singing and the instrumentation (and chicken sound effects).  And as always, French is such a beautiful language to listen to.

Brilliant JP, this is fantastic. I love the guitar sounds, they are fantastic, and the overall feel of this is fabulous. The vocals are great, and the chicken noises are hysterical! A wonderful mix as well, everything sounds great, there's a lot going on but it is all beautifully balanced. Great work!

Jahia is so cute. If you have one hen called Megane, then surely you must call her friend Clio....... ;) :D

Jean Pierre

thank all the guys

Nigeel the guitar is my magic Rickenbacker 12 strings (pardon, his clone HB) the hysterical chicken...it's me ( II speak better "chicken" language than English and my two little chicks are adorable and very calm, one of them is a Sussex...like Megane, so .... :D

Just realized I had not commented me and the wife watched the Tube vid when you put it out out she loved both the coop and the Kitty palace and yes you have the chicken speak down, lol
