I based this one on "Hats of to Roy Harper" a song of Zep 3 i've always wanted to play slide by my ability is zero so i thought i'd put my big boy pants on a give it the old college try and came up with this my first recorded attempt at it. The Gibson tuned in alternative C tuning and using a glass slide. I recorded the vocal using a crunch preset for the guitar then messed with parameters a little with a clean vocal central. Now this was an experiment its either a lot of niose or it almost works i'll let you be the judge.....Thanks for listening
I want your love yeah
I want your love yeah
I want your need
I want your love
I want your need

But I ain't your monkey
No I ain't your monkey
I ain't your monkey
I ain't climbing no tree

I can't love you if you don't want me
No I can't love you if you don't want me
Cause I ain't your monkey
I ain't climbing no tree

I tell you I love you
But I tell you
I ain't climbing no tree

I want to your  love I want it bad
but you just make sad
I want your love
Oh I want your love
I want you I need you but
I ain't no monkey
I ain't no monkey
no monkey
no monkey
I ain't climbing no tree
I ain't no monkey
I ain't no monkey
I ain't climbing no tree
I ain't no monkey
I ain't no monkey
I ain't climbing no tree

I've never heard the original led zep song this is based on ( will have to check it out now) but this has a nice bluesy style and your vocals sound great for blues type songs like this. I like the effect on the guitar and vocals. :)
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

Awesome sound. The way you can change your vocal style from track to track is very cool. Definitely get a Hats Off To Roy Harper vibe you were talking about but it also reminds me a bit of Beefheart

what I find ironic is that the one about your monkey friend funeral getting bumped and this one kind of getting missed... personally I like this one better, at least the music...I like the experimentation with the voice...has a spring reverb feel to it...cool stuff as always T...

I don't know the original either but there's an intriguing sound here with great vocal work as always. I too got a bit of Beefheart coming through, but perhaps that's because I know his stuff more then Led Zep. As always, it's a real pleasure to listen to your vocal work and you always make the guitar backing interesting and a bit different. I think this worked well.....

Delta blues style, you,ve got the slide down too and crunchy vocal works too, cool stuff!

Highly enjoyable and effective. The lo-fi distortion on the vocal seems perfectly in keeping with the dirty delta blues of it. Sounds like you're managing just fine with that slide technique! I prefer a glass slide too.

Nice one!

Great, raw blues sound (are you playing slide on an acoustic? It's got lots of "air"). Vocals fit great with that crunch effect.

I think your experiment is a success!
