Heres one for the cutup fest I have the little black songbook of Led Zeppelin so i've done an oroginal guitar track and cut up the lyrics from their songs and came up with this ....Thanks for listening
Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2 Am G x 4
C G F C x 2
Em G X3
D C G X2
Sisters of the wayside biding in quiet peace
Awaiting their place in the ring of calm
To jeopardize the course, upset time
Dancing days are here again the summer evenings grow
Dancing days are here the summer evenings grow

How keen the stories hunters prevail upon the land
To seek the unsuspecting and the weak
And the powerless said the fable too smug to lift a hand
Dancing days are here again the summer evenings grow
Dancing days are here the summer evenings grow

I said it's alright
She looks so fine
But I got a women who won't be true
Got a women who's drunk all the time
Got a women who's drunk all the time
The dancing days are here

When the day is done I'm looking for a women
Oh what women come
If you go down in the street today babe
Don't carry it with you
The dancing days are here again
Dancing days are here again

Oh darling darling walk a while with me
From the shambles of the old
From your window of your rented limousine
Dancing days are here again
I the rivers of flowers in your hair
You know I'm the one you want
I must be the one you need
Working from seven to eleven overnight
Dancing days are here again
Dancing days are here again

I've really really been the best of fools
I did what I could yeah
With a word she can get what she came for
On a tree by the brook the songbird sings
Sometimes all our thoughts are misgiven
Her shadows taller than our soul
There walks that lady we all know
If the sun refused to shine
Dancing days are here again
Dancing days are here again

Summer evenings grow
Dancing days are here again

This is a cool idea, to take lyrics from a band and cut them up like this. I think you've just given me an idea for cut up fest. Cool song to boot, interesting how I immediately recognized some lyrics from Zep songs but other lines I couldn't recognize at all when they are divorced from the songs. Great belting vocal as always.

DarrenG / The Devil's Toupee

I can hear the led zep lyrics in this, that's a great idea mixing up their lyrics. it's weird how they gel together it all seems to fit. Great music again, love the guitar with that flange/ reverb fx. and vocals sound great. :)
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

Cool stuff, great idea. Sounds familiar, but doesn't.

I forgot to leave a comment on this one, so here I am saying it's a great idea and it works really well. The lyrics have come together really well to create something familiar but new with some great lines, and you've added your own sheen to this with a strong guitar part and a fabulous vocal performance. A compelling listen as always.

Superb use of the cut up concept, I really enjoyed this Trev.

This is damn good, Trev. Both the concept and the execution. I like how it takes the cut-up methodology in a different direction, but one that definitely works for you (or any Led Zep fan!). Your vocal is so good that this stripped-back acoustic arrangement fits the song perfectly.

WarpCanada

that was cool. The fact that some the lines in the song are exactly lines from ledzep songs gave a weird and interesting effect.

I always start stuff I like with Wow! It's not enough here.

I love this. Superb delivery and doubly naked.

Bravo. What a vocal.
