I hardly ever record/ produce covers but I was determined to cover this Bob Dylan classic. I asked my friend Jean pierre (My Idol is Jahia) to play slide guitar for me and he kindly obliged with a fantastic input on his beautiful sounding Weissenborn guitar. Many thanks to him - much appreciated.

This cover version sounds fantastic Ray and I'm glad you decided to do it. You're so good musically that you don't often need anyone to collaborate with lol..but it's excellent work from jean Pierre on that slide guitar. Really great song form you both. Love your take on it, music and vocals always a treat.  :)

The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

Thanks Ray,

That's what's great about Songcrafter, and I think that's the essence of this unique site: the fact that we, amateurs, can collaborate with excellent musicians, some of whom are professionals.

It's clear from this cover that you spent 40 years in the Sydney recording studios!

In addition to your voice which is very well suited to folk music, your mixing work is really remarkable, each new listening we hear small details, as Stephen makes rare
Quotethat ride cymbal is cutting right into my soul.

My weissenborn is discreet but very present in the introduction...and you have mixed this perfectly well...indeed as a weissenborn and slide player (Dobro and Lap steel), I tend in my personal songs to "add" and maybe make too much of it (but it's quite natural it seems to me).

Thank you again dear Ray for your confidence, I am happy and proud to have a new friend like you beyond the oceans.16950 km separates us, music brings us closer)

I also have a lot of fun playing with Doug (Desofree) and Tim (TPB),...and I think I'll do more collaboration if possible, it's a pleasure.

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

What a beautiful, sensitive cover. Great move getting JP on the case - that slide playing is so classy and emotive. Your production skills are incredible. Another wonderful performance. You should do more covers!

Ray and JP, it's really another song, and a great one ! Aint no track of the first 'angry' Dylan, rather it seems one from Nashville Skyline. No, it's just like Ray and JP wonderful style ! Grandissimi!
