Kind of a throwaway song lyrically, but was still fun to do.  Features UVI Orchestral Suite and Native Instruments Session Strings Pro with Isotope's Vocal Synth at the end.

Let me make this quite clear now
We haven't got much more to cheer now
You gave up yesterday. You took it slowly
Caved on into emotional rescue

Standing in my dream's way
You don't have enough to say
Your mind works overtime. Still you only notice
all the beauty that you don't understand

Life's a bitch on most days
But you'll never hear an unkind word from me
Can't you see how my love's alright now?

Hard times come and hard times go
and you're so afraid that you'll miss the show
Time and love in the right place with the right kind
add such feeling.

Make it part of the proposition
And keep it worthy of the old tradition
And as the years pass by all to quickly and not so nicely
You may find what you need.

Life's so rich on some day
that it's all I can do to keep my joy contained
Can't you see how my love's alright now?

Fabulous chord changes, John and lovely melodies. That wandering bass-line is a killer - love it. Stellar vocal that I couldn't even dream of singing. Great work; well done.

Man, those chord changes! That one in the middle of the verses (before 'You gave up yesterday')... wow. Love it. And the middle section which opens up into that classical flourish. Always liked a song with stop-start gaps too. The vocoder is the icing on the cake! It's such fine and classy songwriting. Special mention for the drums - they're perfect.

I especially love the music bridge around 2 min in and the next 40 seconds... wonderful.... the lyrical theme, if I am getting the correct clues is a classic dilemma that many who love another feel sometimes....at times the music in this reminds me of Chicago....not the city, the old band... I used to listen to them alot... and also Blood, Sweat, and Tears.... vocally though you are quite unique...imo...

Pure class on every level as always John. It's a delight to listen to from a composition and arrangement perspective. I also found that breakdown and change at around 2:36 absolutely stunning. I also love your contrapuntal bass lines, right up my street. And I agree, that vocoder is a nice touch as well.

Bravo, it's a joy all round.

This is amazing and I had to chuckle at your "throw away" comment. Brings on many moods, love the bass action and yes the vocoder is really cool. Also, what wonderful piano playing and singing. This is something you could find something new on every listen (a few times for me already lol).

And my favorite is how the song "ends" three times!

Well done, awesome!

Oh my, that's another fine one. I begin to get used to that complex, but I still appreciate when you came to a plainer and major harmony right on Life's a bitch on most days line LOL.
