So I realize I've MIA lately and have a lot of listening to do but I wanted to get one more in for the covers fest. I took my daughters Senior Class (of a Theatre School) on a camping trip this weekend, brought my studio and a bunch of instruments and had the Uke/vocal take to build on. Kinda new where I was going...kinda got there. Uke is my Hilo Baritone  (low strung DGBE), Bass is my A/E. The drums are from my DrumJam app & the synthy sounds are my animoog app. The electric guitar is my Traveler.
The Spin Doctors were a funk rock band from the early 90s. The original is a straight up, funky 4/4, predictable Pop song. I started playing it when it came out as a folk tune in 6/8 to get laughs...don't remember anyone laughing. Thought I'd try to Psych out that version.

1 uke/vocal (stereo)
2 drums/percussion (each stereo)
1 A/E distorted bass
2 animoog (each stereo)
2 lead guitars (each stereo w/the stereo field panned right & left moderately)
1 tremolo guitar (stereo)

Great interpretation! And a lot more interesting and expansive than the original. A lovely brew of textures and instruments that are wigging out but are faithful to the song structure. Comforting and disorientating at the same time. Fantastic job on the vocal too.

Great bit of work Hook. Loads happening here, lots of great textures and some very cool out there noises. You put a massive tick in the Psychadelic box. Fantastic and very creative.
