Christmas Fest...

It's hard to do a Christmas song I think... but I gave it a go. Wanted to have a kind of a mixture of emotions like Christmas can be. Any comments on the mix welcome as always, is the bass a bit loud!?

The title was actually inspired by a comment Kenny Mac made on one of his latest posts
"but hey, grab a glass and merry Christmas"

So yeah.. Merry Christmas y'all!

It's been a shitty year
For everyone
Life was cancelled
So was fun
Like all things
These things will pass
In the end
And we will get to
Raise a glass once more
Once again

I never felt so strange
Before
My mind and body
On the floor
Pretty soon we all will be
On the mend
And we will get to
Raise a glass once more
Once again

Amen to the sentiment. This is a fine song Mike, and the mix is good too.  Certainly not too much bass.  Your vocals remind me a bit of Lou Reed on this one - this is a good thing in my book. Little bit of tubular bells at the end - nice!

A great uplifting song that is saying goodbye to one of the worst years in human history. Bass too loud? Nah. No way. This is mixed just right, Mike.

I raise my glass to you, your song and say goodbye to this shitty year...cheers Mike! The mix is good to my ears and the bass level sounds fine. A good one!

Sounds great to me as well. I agree with the point of the song. 2021 can't come fast enough! Nice contrast between feelings with the upbeat music. Good one!

Mike I love the way you have the bass drum and the bass just locked together tight... the bass is freaking awesome to me.... I am listening at work on my Presonus 3.5 inch ref monitors and this all sounds so good....Mike your mixes are as good as any I have heard on here...and your musical ability is flippin off the charts.... your song structures and the tones you choose, the phrasings of the instruments and the chord progs are super....  plus I really like your vocals...alot...
SC has a lot of talent... and you are right up there Mike!  Not that this is a competition I suppose....

Man, those chord changes! Love the assured swagger of this. The melody is SO good, and that single coil jangle is right up my street. Such a tasty solo too. Lyrically spot on. Just really digging the songwriting though. Excellent.

On the mend
And we will get to
Raise a glass once more
Loving the lyrics my sediments exactly
The mix sounds great on my end and the playing is so tight
