In the haze of the morning got a head full of sand
And the pain's just a warning like the shaking of my hand
Another bar another voyage through another land
Maybe one day who knows the penny will drop
Maybe one day then I will know when to stop

Many drinks four and twenty; many fair-weather friends
Now my pockets are empty another session ends
My bruises remind me my drunken word offends
Memories are abstract, hazy
Rowdy, cloudy, crowdy crazy

If I should die by this time tomorrow
Here's to every single hour I borrow
Every drunken sorrow

All reason, sense, moments abandoned
Drinking with my last companion

Plunging downhill full throttle; another wasted year
Through the bottom of a bottle watched my family disappear
Wonder what I will do when I've lost everybody dear
This monkey on my back I'm carrying
Now alcohol my last companion

If I should die by this time tomorrow
Here's to every single hour I borrow
Every drunken sorrow

Very classy songwriting and performance. Love that middle section with the piano and sweet lead guitar, and the 'If I should die' parts are SO good. This is a beautifully constructed song - I can hear the attention to detail and production effort that went into it. Excellent.

You are quite the storyteller! That muted guitar parts is sublime and loved the piano. Whats your set up? Are you playing everything or software?, drums sound fabulous!

This is just brilliant song and performance! Special thanks for the arrangement, there's so many little things that are just in the right place; lead guitar additions, keys (strings?) etc. Top class production as well.!

I love the atmosphere of this. On my second listening....

Great song and brilliantly performed and mixed.  The guitar solo just oozes class and taste.

I would also be interested to know what kit you use - I'm always interested how people put stuff together.

Cheers.

Just an excellent piece of songwriting, Ray. Powerful impact and clear imagery. Very descriptive and poignant lyrics. The music is rich and very well played, without being overstated. Perfect canvas for the mood of the lyric. Exceptional.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Farrell Jackson

This is a very classy production and performances here Ray. The song just floats along without anything over powering the other things. Smooth vocal and harmonies. The lines "If I should die by this time tomorrow, Here's to every single hour I borrow, Every drunken sorrow"
hits home with me. Well done on it all!
