The Black amazon where an obscure three piece from Glasgow. The recorded only three songs over a forty year period. There first in 1977 was never released, this was their second recording sponsored by Lawson's sausages in 1993 who at the time were looking to widen their market, but as the song was not about sausages it was never properly released. There was ten copies printed at the time and are now highly sought after. One copy was recently purchased for 4 kilos of lorne square slice. their third song is coming out when they eventually finish it.

What's with your need for control
Can't you just lay back and go with the flow
Everything's a problem
Everyone's a pain
And everything is up in the air again
Why can't you just let it go
Why can't you leave it alone
Why must you pick at the wounds
Why is your cup just half full
Why can't you just let things be
Why don't you just crawl back into your hole
You are not the centre
Of the universe
Our world doesn't revolve around just you
Why can't you just let it go
Why can't you leave it alone
Why must you pick at the wounds
Why is your cup just half full
I wonder how you get through your day
Beneath the weight of all your pain
You know that we're here
So don't push away
There's no one who can do it on their own
Why can't you just let it go
Why can't you leave it alone
Why must you pick at the wounds
Why is your cup just half full

Glad this was unearthed from the rear of the sausage cabinet in a condemned Glaswegian meat processing plant. It's a surprisingly non-sausage related track with a really good soundscape (loving the keys) and great vocals over the top of it. It works really well and has come together more effectively than a Mars bar and a deep fat fryer.

Nice one James,I remember seeing a Black Amazon rehearsal ,I think they eventfully changed thier name to love sausage and they tried to please a Glasgow crowd but got butchered. The hamburgers took over the scene and the Amazons where eventually just mince meat.
I remember seeing them at a barbecue back in the day but they weren't there for long.
A huge record executive was there ,he was as angry as can be and he had them for breakfast

Cool song.

A far better use of the lyric.

this is what I was talking about, I'm glad you saw sense and took my advice, it's going to be re-released and sell a million.
We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

This is a belter. Shades of Blue Nile on the vocal in places. The drums drive it along but it has a dreamy, rainy quality that I love.
