This song is all about the drug references used in songs over the years often hidden in amongst lyrics and some still contested to this day. Brown Sugar was apparently about a black woman Mick Jagger met and the slang term from heroin came from this song and John Lennon's Lucy in the sky with diamonds (LSD) was an innocent drawing by Julian. Fact or fiction?  You decide..............

Massive thanks to my personal George Martin aka Mike Huntingford for mastering this track for me as this new VSt plugin lark is really getting me in a tizzy but im sure ill get it together soon. Amazed how fast Mike works and we are in the process of collaborating on two more songs so watch this space.

Thanks for the support and positive comments so far i hope you enjoy this. Is it bluesy enough for Bluesfest? ???

Nice Dan...I like how you've taken a one chord song and made it interesting from start to finish with your vocals and the cool wah guitar. The bass line really drives the rhythm here and locks tightly with the drums. You should post up the lyric so we can follow along. I enjoyed the listen!

;D Its not one chord its a 2 chord riff with a 3 chord chorus but i get what you mean lol  ;D Here's the lyrics i cant put them in a box like some of the others;)

Prince Valium

So you've heard of Sister Morphine, and so much besides
And you've heard of good old Lucy, from her you can't hide

Im sleeping with the Prince tonight, I know everything's alright
Everything's alright, Prince Valium, It's gonna blow your mind
Its gonna blow it to pieces,
That's the Prince, That's the Prince Thats the Prince

So you've heard of shooting speedboy, speedball in your head
And you've heard of good old Dexy, Its gonna make you full of lead

Im sleeping with the Prince tonight, I know everything's alright
Everything's alright, Prince Valium, It's gonna blow your mind
Its gonna blow it to pieces,
That's the Prince, That's the Prince Thats the Prince

So you've heard of the fallen Angel, It's made out of dust
And you've hard of old Brown Sugar for some its a must

Im sleeping with the Prince tonight, I know everything's alright
Everything's alright, Prince Valium, It's gonna blow your mind
Its gonna blow it to pieces,
That's the Prince, That's the Prince Thats the Prince

This is brilliant Dan, just so good.

I've fixed the lyric box for you. If you don't like it I can take it back off.

Sorry about that  :) I was referring to the verses as being one chord but now that I listen closely I can clearly hear the other chords. The bass line sort of disguises the second verse chord...my mistake. Still a cool and interesting song!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT :) and thanks for the positive feedback

Greeny

Tasty. Great groove - love that string slide thing going on. The wah solos remind me of early Jefferson Airplane Skip Spence psychedelia (talking of drugs... ). They're fab.

Love it.

Thanks Tim  ;)

Thank you everyone it's nice to get feedback  ;)

Simple backer, but it works very nicely! The wah solo is icing on the cake. It is straight from a hippie club ;D . Bravo Dan!
