It's a beautiful ballad of the Irish tradition, which I didn't know (??, I'm French, isn't it...), before discovering it in the instrumental version of ...Clapton.

I thought it was so beautiful that I wanted to do it, just for fun...
I did the instrumental backtrack (string, bass line) with Reaper/ Slow String Soundfont Merlin on SFZ)
The guitar is my delicious Takamine Hirade nylon string guitar, with two tracks, an arpeggio track and a melody track.

Thanks for listening and friendships to Ireland and the Irish people whose music I love.

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Very beautiful indeed. That Takamine sounds incredible - as does your playing.

Ahhh, fantastic JP. That guitar sounds so good... such a pure sound an so well played. Something wonderful about the sound of a melody played on acoustic guitar.

I agree with you, Mike, although I love electric guitars with steel strings.(my pseudo telecaster  is my current favorite ;)

In this song, cover of Clapton version, I have tweaked the sound with the plug ins plug CLA Guitar from Waves. (excellent plug ins with Waves)
whereas for example in this song Clair de Lune by Debussy, classical and samba version: (that you had listened to and commented on...)

the sound was almost natural, just a reverb.

Ferryman_1957

I hesitated to click on this, because I've heard this song too many times, usually (badly) sung by drunk people at weddings....... ;D

Fortunately this is a really nice instrumental version that is a really lovely listen. Playing it this way on a beautiful sounding guitar gives it a different feel and this was a very enjoyable listen. Very nicely done JP!

Jean Pierre

Thanks guys,... it's true as Ferryman says it's a standard played in many different ways, not always very good, even very bad....
but I liked the instrumental version of Clapton in the respect of the melody and the harmony of this beautiful melody
