Hello !

I got my microBR for about 2 months and it become my best friend. I have read in the DIY section about the WM-61A panasonic microphone, I ordered 10 from digikeys. I have 2 old wireless phone i get the microphone in the handsetand solder it on a 1/8 jack  and try this on my microBR, The sound was very good better than the build in mic you can easyly play acoustic guitar and sing in same time the resultat is incredible. I have received my WM-61A and i try it on the MicroBr  for 2$ it's very impressive the audio quality. I have order the sony mic from ebay not receive yet i can't wait to try it too. The build in preamp in the microBR is a very good idea.
I have recorded my garage band with the 2 phone's mic and i can hear all the instruments the vocal it need somes adjustement of the input volume etc but when it's ok it's incredible for a 250$ recorder

Cool, post your results here!

Those SONY ECM-DS70P for $1.90 on are hard to beat
If i want something better i bust out with my big old condenser/pre-amp stuff.-i've had very good results there too.
But it just tickles me to hear the sonic quality achieved with these small electret type mic's-it's mind boggling the quality
I just wish i could use it with my BR 600 if possible

You can! BR-600 has the plugin power as well.

This capsule is great. WM-61A is used in a lot of probing and testing microphones for its linear response.

What does that exactly-linear response?

The linear response is the graphic of how the microphone react of a range of frequency habitually 20Hz to 200000Hz. The ideal microphone have a flat line it mean that all the frequency respond at the same level.

Englih is not my first language it will probably easier to  look at the WM-61 datasheet ans you will  understand

I don't know but that is a good question. Which one is it, anybody have a tip?

I don't think so. The Sony doesn't have anywhere near the broad frequency response of the Panasonic capsule. The probably just used their own product in it........?
