...I didn't know
but as I am currently interested in the Telecaster guitar, during the research on YT, I came across this wonderful guitarist, who was in the 70s a master of the telecaster
I take here one of these standards played by a multitude of guitarists.
This is an arrangement for Weissenborn guitar (tuned in EBDGBD) by Mike Holland
Weissenborn guitar, Uke bass, keyboard organ, Autoharp by JP
Drums by BIAB

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Very well done JP! The Weissenborn guitar (tuned in EBDGBD) sounds fantastic. I am familiar with this song and Roy Buchanan....he was a great master of the Tele for sure. You did this song fine!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Jean Pierre

Thank you Farell.
Roy Buchanam had a fantastic way of making his telecaster sound a little like a cat meowing at times!

extraordinary, we must hear that!....fantastic guitarist....respect

I made some corrections on the rendering of this cover regarding the accuracy,  not easy even with Melodyne because there is a lot of harmonics

playing "just" with the Weissenborn (or the dobro) is not easy (unless you are a specialist virtuoso, like Mike Holland, from whom I stole this arrangement for Weissenborn
I also turned up the volume of the Auto Harp in the mix

Oh yes ....I played this great Roy Buchanan standard with the Weissenborn guitar...because I don't have a fender telecaster (not yet... ;))

Great version of this JP! Love your instrumentation - wonderful combination of tones. Your playing on your Weiss is so sweet. Very well done!

Have you checked out Danny Gatton? Contemporary of Roy's, both from the D.C. area. Sadly both committed suicide. They never got the audiences, recognition, or money they deserved.

Thanks for listening!

Very nice indeed JP, beautiful playing and lovely sound.

I do indeed remember Roy Buchanan, his solo stuff was popular when I was young. Great guitarist, somewhat tragic life.

QuoteGreat guitarist, somewhat tragic life.

It's true ( see the biography on wikipedia)

......I am in a "telecaster" period and I discover on YT all these great fans of this mythical instrument, and in particular, strangely,  in jazz
