An instrumental... so glad this is finished... I have been trying to play the lead in this start to finish without copy/pasting/editing, etc, more to improve my guitar playing than anything else. And it took me many takes to do it without too many mistakes, It still has a bit of rawness in it, which I don't mind.

I thought of the name for it and then for some strange reason my grandfather who is dead many years (40 maybe?) came into my mind as he sometimes used to sing an old song with a similar name called "Michael Row The Boat Ashore Hallelujah" to me when I was a small child for a laugh. And that strange but lovely memory came to me out of the blue. So this is a small tribute to him as he was a really lovely gentle soul.

Here is the video to that song which he used to sing (he just sang the first line and then we both laughed as I remember!)

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Nice playing here Mike over that sort of pseudo-military drum beat. I guess it's the snare rolls that give it that flavor. I liked the clean clear guitar tone and recording. Generates good imagery. Time well spent.

Tone, feel and expression. Such beautiful and classy playing. Reminds me of Knopfler - the slight bagpipe flavour of 'Coming Home' (Local Hero). Very fine indeed.
