Been working on this one over the last few days a bit at a time, when i get a break from work. Was thinking that childhood memories would be festival choice but was probably wrong.

anyway here is my entry for the could have would have mibbes been fest.

It is what it is.

You never looked before you leapt
You never did show fear
Careless carefree ad hoc
You blustered through the years
You learned it as you went along
Then taught it to your peers
As you do

Cuts and bruises nettle stings
Could never slow you down
Jumping burns and climbing trees
Pain overcome by fun
Adrenalin for breakfast
Then run out to the sun
As you do

It seems like only yesterday
But it was long ago
A grown man now
A little kid inside

The days seemed so much longer
No worries and no cares
To play was just the be and all
To kick or catch a ball
You ran until you fell down
Then you got back up again
As you do

The smell of freshly cut grass
Can take me back in time
To where I was and how I felt
When I was just a child
And now I'm old and wiser
Or so I like to think
As you do

It seems like only yesterday
But it was long ago
A grown man now
A little kid inside

Evocative lyrics and wistful vocals.  The spacey detune synth bit at the end is a nice touch. Good number.

Thought I heard a Canadian accent for a second there!

Flows nice, cool tune!
