Hi all, hope you all had a good Easter Break. I was thinking the other day (never an easy thing) that my wife was saying more and more frequently do you remember this or that or where or when and I had to admit that most of the time I didn't. So I wrote a little song that may become truer as I get a little older that one day I will have to write things down and remember those I love and in turn who loves me. Hope you enjoy.     Willie

p.s it is a mandolin

I write the words in a leather covered book
Just in case I forget one day
In my best hand, nothing too grand
The words that I need to say

Somethings slip away there's more and more each day
Like faces and the voices of my friends
So I must put it down in my leather covered book
And that is darling I'm still in love with you

And when all else has gone
The words still carry on
Till finally they fade from view
And when they have all gone
The memory lingers on
Darling I'm stillll in love with you

Instrumental

And when all else has gone
The words still carry on
Till finally they fade from view
And when they have all gone
The memory lingers on
Darling I'm stillll in love with you

Somethings slip away there's more and more each day
Like faces and the voices of my friends
So I must put it down in my leather covered book
And that is darling I'm still in love with you

Very well played, sang and written down Willie. This hits close to home. I think folks of our generation ponder on this subject as we age...especially if we've had a relative go through the memory loss of old age. I'm counting on some young, bright individuals to come up with a miracle drug that staves it off before it's my time ;D Meantime, making music will keep us forever young!

You wrote our future here Willie. I really liked the gentle pacing of this one and the concept and lyrics are excellent. Very nicely put together as always, and the mandolin is a nice touch. Very well done indeed.

Spectacular song brother. Love the lyrics and the mando is a nice addition.
Rock on!

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Great song Willie. I think you may have put a lot of our fears into this song... but really nicely done.

The mandolin sounds nice in the song Willie. Nice writing, and thoughtful, although I prefer to not think about that yet.
Two thumbs up!

beautiful relaxing song. A little-bit sad also. Well, getting old is giving up many things. It´s not easy. Very nice performance. I hear some Eagles-vibe too. Like it!
