John Renbourn is an English guitarist born on August 8, 1944 in Marylebone (North London, England) and died on March 26, 2015 in Hawick (Scotland)1. British guitarist, songwriter and composer John Renbourn is best known to the British public for his collaborations with guitarist Bert Jansch, as well as for his work with the folk group Pentangle, but has always had a solo career before, during and after the group's activity (1967-1973). As such, he is considered one of the main inventors of baroque folk, or baroque blues, an ephemeral musical movement of the 1960s which, following Davey Graham, attempted to complexise melodic and rhythmic structures from American folk blues by adding harmonies and counterpoints from the European classical heritage.

his recreation is a medley of two tunes by John Renbourn:
First The Hermit
and second (around 1mn 25) is ???? I can no longer remember the title of this tune... so I call Alfredo, a great connoisseur of John Renbourn
played with Martin 000 D dropped

The second one is "Judy"  :)

IMO this one is actually your best guitar performance, JP. It seems you have recorded your splendid Martin guitar direct with a good microphone, and this too makes a great difference.

Many, many congratulations.

Alfredo

Thank you Alex, and thanki you Alfredo   I was sure you were going to give me the title of the second extract, you,  who are a doctor you know Mr Alzeimher... when you look deep in his memory for something without finding it is a very pleasant relief to have the right answer. :)

JP, I can assure you about your state of mind.  ;D
You haven't any Alzheimer at all. The problems with it are with short term memories, not with the old ones...

P.S. in a doctor's waiting room: patients with Alzheimer are requested to pay BEFORE the visit  :P

Fantastic playing JP! The Martin's tone is so lively and full. A real virtuoso performance...I'm envious of your playing...bravo! Did you mic the guitar and if so, what mic did you use?

...no it's a pretty basic microphone in front of the guitar: T Bone SC 400 ,  but the sound is quite improved by a plug in native Reaper DAW: REAFIR (free, like all plug in Cockos)

Thanks all the guys I wanted to pay tribute to John Renbourn it was through him that I came to picking with this baroque picking style that changed from Chet Atkins and the alternate basses in the 70s
