Kenneth sent me this a while back, today is the first chance i have had to get to it. Apologies to Kenneth for my tardiness.

One for the punkfest?

Anyway it is what it is.
Hey ho it's time to throw the covers back
Shave shower shit I need to crap
Brush my teeth have a coffee quick
Car keys not forgotten anything
Foot down straight onto the motorway
Not a soul on the road but me
Shades on and into infinity
Got to do this every fucking day
The things we do to try to make the world a better place
It isn't easy but I don't know any other way
And every day I try to learn from my mistakes
Maybe today is the day that I'll get it right

It's a maelstrom ain't no shape or form
You have good days then there's bad days
It's a maelstrom ain't no shape or form
You know I wont have it any other way

Hey ho it's time to put my jacket on
Check for texts on my mobile telephone
Engine on foot down I'll soon be home
Kiss the kids and the wife have a glass of wine
The things we do to try to make the world a better place
It isn't easy but I don't know any other way
And every day I try to learn from my mistakes
Maybe today is the day that I'll get it right

It's a maelstrom ain't no shape or form
You have good days then there's bad days
It's a maelstrom ain't no shape or form
You know I won't have it any other way

Bravo Honker!

Simple, but catchy guitar on the verse. Killer chorus; I got some vibes from The Stranglers, because keyboards. Excellent drum programming, are they from BR-80? If so, I have a lots to do to reach your level on drum programming :)

Nice job with vocals and lyric, James. Your voice is great on each genre!

It is what it is and it's fantastic, the switch from very rhythmic verse to swirly cymbal driven double speed drums fit really well - I assume the lyric came second , hence the fit, but nice one James.

It describes the relentless pounding that we have to take on a daily cycle just to get by, I'm sure that in the late 70's when I was growing up amongst the exciting punk times, I would have said that I'm not going to be a part of the machine that subjugates us all, but 40 years later, here I am, contemplating another week ahead of stupidity and pointlessness.

Captures it perfectly, I think that it's post punk reality, so, it a new genre.

I would like to say that I'm still very very angry. You have reminded me of that guys.
We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

Fits like a glove into the uk and probably describes the uk  atmosphere ,funnily enough there was a similar atmosphere when punk was out.
Nice one guys.

Yeah definitely has a big dollop of punk in there. Love the curve ball of the chorus with the different feel adds to the craziness.

Great work guys.

Wow, I love this. The change from verse to chorus is an absolute killer and the instrumentation of the chorus is to die for. Really powerful. The lyrics go so well with this, you did a great job Jim. The "It's a maelstrom" fits the chorus change and instrumentation really well.

Not one really for punkfest IMO this is more like one for post-punkfest. This is more like PIL and Magazine rather than the three chord wonders of punk. It's musical, thoughtful and generally wonderful, well done guys!
