Sainte-Adèle is a municipality in Quebec, Canada, and is part of the Pays-d'en-Haut Regional County Municipality. It lies on Route 117 about 70 kilometers (43 mi) north-west of Montreal.
A railway line was built in 1891. The railway was used primarily for transportation of cattle, dairy products, and mail.

Félix Leclerc (born Joseph Félix Eugène Leclerc1 on August 2, 1914 in La Tuque, Quebec - died August 8, 1988 in Saint-Pierre-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, Quebec) is a singer-songwriter, poet, Quebec writer, radio host, screenwriter, director and actor, and a man committed to the sovereignty of Quebec and to the defense of the French language.

The train of North (the train for Sainte Adele is a song of 1950, built harmonically like a blues

in this cover My friend Bernard is singing, guitars, harmonica, drums, electric piano are musicians in the box)

I just added the dobro, I'll try to have the separate tracks of Bernard to make a better mix

Dans l'train pour St-Adèle,
Y'avait un homme qui voulait débarquer.
Mais allez donc débarquer
Quand l'train file cinquante milles à l'heure

Quand y'a personne à bord.

Le train pour St-Adèle,
En montant la côte infidèle,
Le conducteur et puis l'chauffeur
Se sont décidés à débarquer
Pis l'train tout seul a continué.

Le train pour St-Adèle
Est rendu dans l'bout de Mont-Laurier.
Personne n'a pu l'arrêter.
Paraîtrait qu'on l'a vu filer
Dans l'firmament la nuit passée.
Oh! le train du Nord

Tchoutchou, tchoutchou
Le train du Nord
À perdu l'nord
Rendu de l'autre bord
Le train du nord a perdu l'nord
Pis c'est pas moi qui va l'blâmer
Non, non, non
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Really enjoyed this! Foot-tapping and catchy with a nice bluesy edge. I especially like the 'tchoutchou, tchoutchou' bit!

Nice slide Doboro playing.

Excellent song.

Really liked this, a kind of Cajun feel to it. Great work from both of you.

Now if you do requests, how about Johnnie Allan's version of Promised Land?

Jean Pierre

thank you Ferryman

wow,I just listened and I admit that I'm very tempted, I'm going to ask my  accordionist Cajun friends  from Band in Box tuner if they agree

I hope they agree, I'll look forward to that one. One of my favourite covers of all time, I am sure you would have fun with it.

Hey Ferryman....very difficult for me to sing this song in english (promised land) I can try to sing it in french adaptation : terre promise by...Johnny Halliday (1974) ..... ;)
other solution find a singer with english lyrics and I do all the backtracking :)
