I came up with a rough sketch of this on my iPad on the flight over to Sicily, on the flight back i wrote the lyric and arranged the music. Last night I transferred music from iPad to my BR800 and sang lead and backing vox via my Microbr into the BR800.

It is what it is.
The devil's in the corner
My reflection in his eyes
In a place of contradictions
Should I smile or should I cry
Should I have another glass
Of his blood red wine
Maybe tell him see you later
Another place another time
Nothing rhymes but I'm in heaven
Hell's some other place
I am a creature of reason
I am a creature of reason

Now he's spreading out his papers
And he's taking out his pen
Commands I sign it now
And then kiss him on the hand
The temptation of the devil
Can bring the whole world down
And if you want to break the cycle
Then you must be strong
Nothing rhymes but I'm in heaven
Hell's some other place
I am a creature of reason
I am a creature of reason
Creature of reason

Extremely interesting, James, what about raising up the vocals volume?

I sure enjoyed this song....  I agree with Alfredo with volume - the chorus seems to be okay, but verses could go up just a tat...  WOW, on a flight to Sicily ~ perfect.  is the rhythm guitar your new baby, or digital?

It was all virtual instruments from GarageBand on my iPad. Vocals where done very quickly with in ear headphones, if I turn vocals up in mix will also turn up background noise, however if I have time I might redo the vocals from scratch.

Wait a sec, I'm hypnotized.

OK, I'm back.  I like this a lot.  Mesmerizing, moody, but in a good way.

Those Garage Band instruments sure sound good.  You must have done it right.

Good one Jim.

This is quality, really up to date, like the rap vox, hats off, big respect!

Beautiful song James. Did changing locations help the creative process? Just lovely and thoughtful.
