Scribbled some stream of thought words down on the Ipad, singing Mark E Smith stylee  :o

Got the HB tele out and this happened, the Mark E styling got dumped  ;D

Was a really strange one this, lots of experiments involved. First off the lyric was an attempt at writing differently (i most often have the music or a melody first) then the drums, i got into the gubbings of Garageband's drums and loops. so was mixing indie kits with RnB loops and patterns, then recording this directly to my BR800 mixing and swapping loops patterns etc on the fly. song should have only been about three minutes long but i miscounted the beats and ended up with a 4 minute plus drum track.

so i had to repeat the first verse so i could have the fade out in drums as close to how i had it in my head.  :o

Then recorded guitars, then two vocals using br800 onboard mic, bass guitar, then i plugged in the juno di but through guitar patches on the br800, i'm sure i did other things but was a strange one the way it came and was formed, lots of mistakes and stuff, but hey!
It is what it is.
Update: replaced original post with new mix, with new vocals.
Should you be considered lucky
To be right here right now just seems so fortunate
Your DNA composed from stardust
You realise your own magnificent insignificance

You are the child of chance
Not fate not god not destiny
So do the best you can
Don't close the door on opportunity

My word life is fantastic
A simple spiral helix contains your base identity
And if your nurtured loved and cared for
Take your good fortune and pass it on

You are the child of chance
Not fate not god not destiny
So do the best you can
Don't close the door on opportunity

Don't close the door on opportunity

Wow Jim...this came out great! If this is what comes from experimenting then do it some more. The Tele sounds excellent and I don't hear any hum at all. Nice one!

I really like this lyric line "You realise your own magnificent insignificance"

Sounding really good Jim,
It's surprising how a new guitar puts you in the mood for recording,
The Tele is sounding really nice.

Just did a remix with new vocals but can't post as I have been forcibly dragged off to the pub against my will.
In original version I did vocals early on before I really knew what I was doing and bounced with them in mix. So I remixed everything minus vocals and then with final mix of just music redid the vocals, if I get home in one piece I'll post it.

Fine songwriting, James! This is so well produced, sounds very good!!

I bought iPad a few times ago and there's Garage Band, but I can't make drum tracks, yet... Does there drum patterns (which you're using) include on the free version or have you purchased some additional drum packages?

Another question. You are using sometimes DrumJam, do you have bought any other drum add-ons? On basic versin there's Indian drum patterns etc...can't use them on "pop songs"....
