Devil's Post Pile

(1) Your ship is being rocked
There's no place to dock
Life's not a big vacation
The gravy train has left the station

Your reaching for a pot of gold
Going for the easy mile
Another lost soul
That's stacked on the Devil's Post Pile

(2) You need to get out of bed
Time to clear your head
A job possibilty
With future responsibilities

But your so easily side tracked
Fooled by a sinister smile
You need to get your life back
It's stacked on the Devil's Post Pile....stacked on the Devil's Post Pile.......

Lead solos

(3) You can't escape truth and trial
It follows you all the while
There's no solution
It's time for restitution

(Chr) You reached for the pot of gold
You went for the easy mile
Just another bartered soul
Stacked on the Devil's Post Pile

(Repeat 4x's) Stacked on the Devil's Post Pile

Fine job Diesel Saloon! This has a bit trippy feel and it's always good thing, imo!

Superb guitar work and singing. The flute is icing on the cake!

Bravo, chaps! Puts me in mind of The Band, a little. Love the lazy lope that the drums give it. Superb musicianship & production :)

This was a Premier league track put forward by Farrell for the Diesel Saloon Band we have going (thanks to 64 for this fest!). Gary has added some real creativity with the flute and burns it up with some lead too. Glad to have added some slide too!!

Cheers guys

Thanks for having the Diesel Saloon crew in for a jam Farrell. Mike sliding, you singing and that great bass riff and Bud drumming. Enjoyed doing this one and you letting everyone have an input. The Devil's Post Pile is an interesting rock, so I've read. I also found there is one in Wyoming. I like the word play you use to get the point across. Fine song Mr. Jackson.

Gives me a 60's psych vibe - like Julie Driscoll's 'Wheel's on Fire'. I absolutely love everything about it. Fabulous guitar work - that second solo is especially scorching. And I really dig the flute.

This is seriously awesome.

Back in the early nineties, me and my then boss had a road trip courtesy of my employer Harman Kardon from Phoenix to LA (Land Rover Hot Climate Test Base to Company HQ).  For some reason this took me right back to those days.

Lovely laid back rock track, well done guys.
