Heroes of the day

A howling wail from the Ocean's swell
A storm hard to believe
Irma came astride and changed the lives
Of how those lives would be.

She came ashore with a mighty roar
With her whipping post
A massive size and well formed eye
Upon our Florida coast.

As the waters rise to our surprise
Along the old black creek
The winds bear down a harrowed sound
In darkness of the bleak.

The rescue teams were the victims dreams
Like a long lost cabaret
As a matter of fact they're a well played act
Our heroes of the day.

I had a Dr. appt today, but when I got there they were closed because of no electricity. So I came home and did this in a couple of hours. It's about Hurricane Irma, but in the end it is about the rescue teams that were out on the creek. Those guys drove all night after the storm from Mississippi to Tallahassee, FL. to find only 2 restaurants open in town. They were so full of people they wasn't going to even try.

There were around 80 of them in a convoy. Hungry and tired, they found a place to stay, got up at 4:00 am and headed for Jacksonville. Those guys were very professional and just good 'ol down home boys who were risking their own lives to save others. They couldn't keep the big life rafts steady enough on the creek for my Son to get in because of the current. They got him outta there by jon boat by coming up the flooded road then up the driveway. In the end, they were and still are the heroes of the day.

Fine and noble song and beautifully performed. That electric piano is f#cking gorgeous. Let's hope that was a once in a lifetime experience for you all.

Stuck for words here but Hook hit the nail on the head. What a great song Mach especially after all you have gone through and I imagine there is still a way to go, to get back to some sort of normality.

Music is not going to repair the roads or damage to homes caused by Irma, however i deeply believe it is part of the healing process, I'll stop before i get all hippy trippy on you, but you guys in Florida rock.

As one of your fellow Floridians often says " keep on rockin' ".

In adversity, we see the best and the worst of humanity. As always, music is the great healer!
Mach, you have been though the quagmire, out the other side but a way to go yet I suspect.
Music is a beautiful thing, and this is a great example. Well done brother.

Heroes of the day Very nice brother  so many dedicated people that nobody will ever know the names of.  Been working the hurricane response since Harvey and it amazes me the amount of folks that stop in to help out of the kindness of their heart and many are victims their self . Glad you are safe brother great song

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away
