I do not know much of the Byrds song, only this one, which in reality is a song of Peete Seeger, taken over by the byrds

 The lyrics, except for the title, which is repeated throughout the song and the final two lines, are adapted word-for-word from the English version of the first eight verses of the third chapter of the biblical Book of Ecclesiastes

The sound of the 12 strings of Mc Guinn is quite inimitable without the Rickenbacker. I tried as I could with my 12 string acoustic (and a fx of guitar rig 5 on the track)
