This is my take on the old traditional song first recorded by Blind Willie Johnson in 1927.
There are a lot of versions of this song out there. I took the Bluegrass route.

Acoustics - Alvarez, Harmony HH, 101-Reso, Austin mandolin

This is great! Love the pace and the production, I'm a little partial to your bluegrass-style instrumentation myself. Great version.

This is orchestrated just so bloody well. Love how the fiddle and resonator ebb and flow. Just a stellar post.

Are you seeing the John McLaughlin/Jimmy Herring show in Jax?

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Yeah man, this one is the mustard!
All those acoustic instruments really meld together well and I dig that laid back, lazy pace. It really works for this version of the song.
It's amazing how many totally different ways that this song is played. I think one day I'm to put together a Spotify playlist of every version that I can find of this song, there must be hundreds.
Warmest regards,

Captain Jimbo

Thanks for the comments on this guys, bluegrassed it up, and yes Capt. there are so many. I have listened to a lot of them and they all put a certain twist on it. One of my favs is John Paul Jones on Lap Steel with Steve Hackett, Nuno Bettencourt, Paul Gilbert, Mike Szuter, and Pat Mestelotto on the JAM Guitar Wars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5P1V4IAQIc
