BR still records sound when "input mode is off " ??

In br manual it says when " input mode is set to INPUT OFF, recording will not occur".
however i just have some tests on br-800 and found it can record mic&line inputs when input mode is off with  all knobs&faders down.
IT's an easily fact because in the db meter in sonar or cubase is still reacting to talking sounds.

i don't know if this is normal,  did anyone found the same situation on their br models ?

some update to guys,

the second question is about the "Tempo key", it's not easy to get the tempo right.

I'm considering to write RolandBoss a letter, will update info if they have useful reply.

overall speaking , i think br-800 is a good staff at this price, and it's outlined more fashionable than other multitracks.
