Hi all

I have an AKG K240 but I think the volume at max isn't good enough !
I saw someone here saying the BR80 is loud ! ? ?
What earphones do you use ?

FYI: I have perfect hearing ;)

I think I said that once :D

I use all kinds of headphones, most recently Audio-Technica ATH-M20X. I find the BR80 loud enough in most cases.

Make sure you record load enough tho. And if the drums are load enough then it might be that you just need to adjust the input level when recording.

I don't find the drums load enough !

That seems odd to me. I've used my nice Audio Technica somethings and a variety of cheaper ones right down to the earbuds I used today. I always have to turn the drums down if I'm recording to a click and I've never noticed a volume issue.
The drums should be set at 100 but they can go up to 120. Make sure your mic sensitivity is giving you a good level.
Adjust the volume knob on the left side?
Good luck.

i used to always swear by Sennheiser HD 201 On-Ear Headphones, but the last pair i bought, where useless for monitoring, really too quiet, i don't have a br80 but have a microbr and br800. never had problems with that brand till very recently, so i think maybe there is less quality control to acheive their low price.

i recently got a pair of Goji Tinchy Stryder Over-Ear Headphones. they retailed at £50, where reduced to £20 in my local currys electrical store, so was getting a set for my daughter to use with her ipad, at the checkout they where  reduced again to £7.99, so i bought myself a pair too. best bloody headphones i have ever had, and fabulous for monitoring.

there is a pair on ebay for about a tenner http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/White-Goji-Tinchy-Stryder-Over-Ear-Headphones-/331961138594?hash=item4d4a6cfda2:g:PWsAAOSwHoFXu0Kd

120 Helped a lot

I would have liked it to go to 150 or maybe 200 but 120 is OK

Thanks

Never heard of that brand but after doing some research and looking at some Youtube clips I see it has a lot of bass so it is not for me since I like a flat response curve and want it to sound pretty much the same on any sound system.

Thanks for your time anyway

I use monitor speakers for mastering for the same reason, but i am very impressed at the results i have been getting with just those headphones. once mastered i play on various sources, car stereo, mobile phone etc and result are on a par with my monitor speakers.
