The other day i found myself listening to Vinnie Moore's album "Time Odyssey" & thought I could have a go at something in that vein. It's not really a style I'm comfortable playing but I gave it a shot anyway & this is the result. As for the title... it's the hardest thing in the world to come up with a name for a tune that isn't "about" anything in particular so I often raid the titles of old films. This one had several working titles... Vertigo; Aces High; North By North West, and Ivanhoe. But I eventually settled on "All The Kings Men" - don't know why: it just sounded "right" somehow.

Anyway... the cast:

Cakewalk SI drums
ORGANised Trio Hammond Organ VST
No-name bass
Tele (2 tracks rhythm guitar panned L/R)
Harley Benton LP copy (lead & harmony guitars)
Vox Tonelab

Thanks for listening :)

Thanks chaps... Glad you like it so much - I wasn't sure if I'd pulled it off, to be honest. Anyway, here's the album that sparked off the idea for this tune. The first track is called "Morning Star" & you'll probably hear the similarities between it and my effort :)

This is an amazingly well structured piece, and brilliantly executed. The guitar playing is superb, as are all the instruments. But the thing that most impresses me is your musical vision: the ability to realise something on this scale.

I'm in awe!

(Thinks "There might be a song in that - 'I'm in awe of Johnny Robbo ...'").
Dueling BR1600s. Beats banjos.
