Submission for the Parody Fest...

A bit of a skit on Nickleback. I left it kind of fairly raw sounding to contrast with the stadium rock type values...

Edited 16th Aug - removing drums and one guitar part to give a more unplugged solo performance, trying to be as far from original as poss.

One guitar track panned left and right with two different sounds, one cleanish and one dirty. (Edited 16th Aug - removed one guitar track)
Vocals
Drums programmed in garageband. (edit - 16th Aug removed Drum track)
No bass, to give a slightly sparse, odd feel
Recorded in garageband

Never wrote a proper rock song
Always had to rip off other people
Didn't care much for new ideas
just wanted to be rich and famous

This is how I remind you
Of what I really am
This is how I remind you
Of what I really am

Not like me, to say sorry,
I'm quite ok thanks for asking
Got what I needed
Got a loada kids to buy my music

You are wrong
You are wrong
I gotta a lot more cash than you do
I can buy anything

I'm not wrong
I'm not wrong
I'm a very, very famous rock star
Don't you know who I am?

Got all I ever wanted
Got my face in all the magazines
Not like I don't deserve it
Now I'm rich beyond my wildest dreams

This is how I remind you
Of what I really am
This is how I remind you
Of what I really am

Not like me, to say sorry,
I'm quite ok thanks for asking
Got what I needed
Got a loada kids to buy my music

You are wrong
You are wrong
I gotta a lot more cash than you do
I can buy anything

I'm not wrong
I'm not wrong
I'm a very, very famous rock star
Don't you know who I am?

I saw them once, supporting Bon Jovi at the Milton Keynes Bowl (hastily explains that my wife was once a Bon Jovi fan, I was along for the ride).

Nice one, Mike.  I think you've got right to the heart of what makes a good parody; a healthy dose of contempt blended with a soupcon of sarcasm.
