Fightin' The Fight

( V1) Some people....have such a nerve
Oblivious.... to others around
It's time to throw some curves
And leave them wearin' a frown

All I am is an honest man, Keepin' my head above the sand
It's time to take a stand, 'Cause I really do give a damn

(V2) While waiting..... in the postal line
Please hang up... your cell phone
Don't wanna....... hear about your life
You know you're not standin' here alone

You're gettin' into my space, Please take it to another place
Slow down this is not a race, It's a big disgrace

(Chr) I'll keep on fightin' the fight, Sayin' what's right
Cause sooner or later, You'll see the light

I'll keep on punchin' the bag, Haulin' the load
Cause sooner or later, You'll find the road.................

(Instrumental break)

(V3) I see you..... texting in your car
With no regard for the road
Your movin'.....in a ticking bomb
And it's gettin' ready to explode

You're gettin' into my space, Please take it to another place
Slow down this is not a race, It's a big disgrace

(Chr) I'll keep on fightin' the fight, Sayin' what's right
Cause sooner or later, You'll see the light

I'll keep on punchin' the bag, Haulin' the load
Cause sooner or later, You'll find the road
(Repeat Chorus)

Thanks Alex! A Nashville tuning is where the strings on a regular guitar, electric or acoustic, have been changed to higher gauge octave strings and then tuned in a standard tuning but it's basically an octave higher. For instance the low 6th E string changes from a .046 to a .027 gauge D string, which is then tuned up to an E. When E,A,D,G wound strings are changed to octave strings and the B, E remain the same it gives a sound similar to a 12 string guitar, especially when play along with a regular tuned guitar. In this song it's that high pitched picking and strumming you hear in the background....sounds sort of like a mandolin.

Another cracker Farrell, a great adaption from the bass number it started as. Dr C certainly earns his money on the drum programming. Excellent.    Willie

Great stuff guys, some unexpected little touches in there. I was getting a little bit of XTC vibe in there or something. Can't put my finger on it but it keeps you interested and waiting to hear more little twists and turns. Love it.

Stunning songwriting, Farrell!! I love the twists and turns a lot - you've put things well together!

Great singing and playing by both of you! The outro has a nice progrock vibe!

I got a bit Monochrome Set vibe on some spots!

Thanks for the info about Nashville tuning.

First off, i have to say that DrC did an amazing job on drums and percussive adornment!

Loved the octave bass in the intro...and all the bass lines from there on as well

So much goin' on in here...

Farrell, your vocals have always been a treat for my ears..and they still sound as strong as ever...and "on it"

Good theme here as well....so many folks out there that seem oblivious to others

Fine collab guys..
