BR-1600 function button problem

The F4 button on my BR-1600 has become very dodgy. It'll work once in a dozen (or two) pushes. Sometimes it won't work at all. This is problematic because in a number of contexts, notably when saving drum patterns, it's the only button you can use.

Does anyone know what the switch type is? I have an excellent ex-broadcasting tech who'll replace it, but I don't want to be without it for long, so ideally I'll buy a replacement switch before he takes the unit away.

In case anyone else strikes a similar issue, the push buttons on the BR-1600 are of the following type:

In case anyone else needs to know, there are 68 of these switches in a BR1600. I asked my technician to count them while he was replacing the dud F4 button, so I knew how many would be needed if they all started to fail. Hopefully that won't happen soon.

My technician did say that it would be cheaper to buy a replacement motherboard, and he's probably right.

The F4 button is fixed, but I'm unable to do any recording as - apart from still being busy at work - we're redecorating and all the livingroom furniture is stacked in the office/studio. I can't even get at the recorder.

Well, the time will come.

I'm glad your button issue is fixed, hopefully you will get behind the board soon.
Rock on!
