This is the current version. Guitar and piano solos still to be added in mid section. When i've added them I'll post and delete this version. I just wanted to get some feedback if possible about the song as it stands, thanks.

DO I EVER CROSS YOUR MIND © Andy Dursley 2015

Do I ever cross your mind in your quiet times,
If only for a fleeting second or two.
I'd like to think I cross your mind maybe sometimes,
If only just as much as I do of you.
==========
Your image in my mind is slowly fading,
thoughts of you now mostly monochrome.
that doesn't stop the futile craving,
For moments spent just you and me alone.
==========
I'll never understand time and its questions
Leaves me feeling hazy. confused
My ever constant nagging need is to ponder,
Not my choice it seems, to choose.
==========
Your living in my mind in the corner
Somewhere deep hiding in the grey
Like so much cloudy ,murky water
spinning around in constant replay

Chorus

I know i would give anything,
sell my very soul to you know who,
To see that secret smile
The one that drove me wild ..............

guitar/piano solo over verse length

repeat chorus

If only I could stop my mind in my quiet times
If only for a fleeting second or two
I'd like to switch off my mind maybe sometimes
maybe it's the same problem for you

Thanks for listening. her name is Judy ONeil from Maine, USA. I met her through a facebook music group. The original recording had just me singing it all but I decided it might be better with two very different voices. I think she did a great job and it was her first time being recorded singing.

Using both vocals was an excellent idea, you guys did a nice job on this. Nice work keeping the guitar work flawless the whole time too.
Congrats.

She did a great job Andy... a great idea to have 2 vocalists on this. The 2 voices work very well together. The mix also is a top job. Best of all... a great song.

Good to hear from you again Andy - a lovely song and a good idea to incorporate a female voice. Looking forward to hearing the final version.

A great song, Andy.  Beautiful, laid back but interesting chord structure and the male/female voice combination works really well.  The ending is a bit abrupt but I imagine that is because it's a "work in progress."

Look forward to hearing the finnished article.

A very good jazz style song Andy. The combination of male/female vocal works real good. Overall masterfully done!

Am I correct in thinking that you two have never met, and Judy's vocals were recorded remotely? The vocal track has the sort of cohesion you get from being in the same room. I like the guitar too.

One thing I'd do if this were mine would be to re-record my own vocal, at least the lines I shared with Judy, and tighten them up a little. They're not desperately untidy, but they could be more in sync.

This is a nice, cruisy song. Love it.
