The Golden Years EP opened my eyes.  Punk could live with Rock.  All four of the tracks are on my shortlist for this fest.  This is the one I chose.  Right from the height of the original (best IMHO) line up.

It's a bit hasty and rushed, that actually seems quite appropriate though.  I dug out my Squier Jaguar bass for this - didn't seem right to use a GB bass.  I don't use the bass much, I was going to put it on Gumtree.

Great cover Nick, excellent tribute. I agree that this is the definitive lineup, it blew my brain when I heard overkill for the first time, it was the first time I'd heard the double bass drum being played like that. Hell yeah!

I will always associate Motorhead with long lunchtimes in the sixth form common room, blasting out "no class" as loud as we could get away with :-) Endless Motorhead logo's on our folders. All the 'in-crowd' hated it, as they never remembered to bring any LP's in with them  ;D ;D ;D I got my revenge for all the pop nonsense that was spoon fed on the radio. What my head can't deal with is at what point did these rebells such as Ozzy, Lemmy and Johnny R. suddenly become national treasures - it always felt like being a bit of an outcast listening to this type of music (more Rock than Punk for me, although I loved the Stranglers) at the time!

Keep 'em coming.

Some pretty good playing there bro. Especially nice to hear the Squier Jag too.
I've just bought one of the new long scale versions, never plucked up the courage to go shorty ;)

I was a BIG Stranglers fan, but also could appreciate Motorhead. I had their 1st single (Motorhead) on 12" vinyl & played it to death along with Rattus Norvegicus:)

Fantastic cover Nick.  Always enjoy your posts and i think I've said before that we seem to like a lot of the same bands/music. Didn't realise you could rock out like this - awesome !

I couldn't have cared less about Motörhead and never paid any attention to Lemmy but this makes me want to check some out. You rock this outrageously well, nicely done!
Rock on!

Hang onto that bass, man...it sounds terrific! I don't know the original, but this is rocking, hard. And those solos are crazy good!

I'm sure there'll be more Motörhead in my future listening - I've only scratched the surface so far.

Yeah, I'm diggin' your take, man. I love that riff and want to pick up the guitar and join in. Is that a chorus effect on the vocal? I think it works great. The energy and the vibe.. yeah, you've done it right.
