i originally did this song here https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=23901 blooby suggested i add a few bars for a solo.

my house was extremely noisy so i had to record electro acoustic plugged in, so is a different beast from the first version. i then recorded vocals in the car as again house was too noisy.

i sent track off to blooby, and was pleasantly surprised to have this to listen to over my coffee.

cheers blooby.
Falling back through memories
I don't expect a soft landing
I'm staring at the tumbleweeds
remembering it all

screaming from the radio
A reminder of how simple it could be
just some levity
just say no no no

Was there a time before you and me?
Or is my head all messed up
and my subconscious making it up
I'm just fooling myself

the world can be a cruel cruel place
so don't expect a soft landing
or a smile on every face
before I stumble and fall

if life was fair we'd All be
the last man standing
we'd all be
losing the race

Looking forward to a soft landing
I woke up at 5 to the sound of a siren
Yeah,Yeah Yeah
How could trouble be so demanding

She looked at me and said
Your a piece of crystal Meth
nothing but trouble
eating inside my head

Lovely. Some great spanish feel guitar playing Bruce, wonderful collab ORH and Blooby. We are making good use of these lyrics.

Fine work, fellas.

Seems to be unlimited creative mileage in this collab when you throw talent at it!

I really appreciate you for re-cutting this. There are several world-class vocalists here (I am fortunate to get to play with one live somewhat regularly), but I am constantly stunned by the natural, organic nature of just about everything you put out. I am proud of the paltry contributions to this, "I Just Don't Know," and the other items we have done.

Cheers, brother.

Oldrottenhead

you are far too kind blooby.

the honour is mine, in that i get to collaborate with such talented artists such as yourself.

i can barely play and i'm not a particularly good singer, so it is very special for me to have my wee dittys enhanced by such great talents.

cheers blooby.

Such a great colab, the vibe is one the best from ORH imo and guitar solo from Blooby really fits the mood, well done guys!

What a lyric! Devastating.

Quite a simple production – you could almost miss the panned echos bounding from right to left. Everything else seems panned dead center, which is somehow extremely effective – adding to the loneliness of the song.

The image of you, alone in your car, recording these vocals, is really sad. In my imagination, it's an older car, an ugly orange-red with a rusted hood and torn upholstery, parked on the street. It's early evening, and the sky is cloudy. A woman and her young daughter, bundled up in warm clothing, are walking towards the car on the sidewalk. When they see you singing to yourself inside, the woman stops. The child is confused. Her mother ushers her to cross to the other side of the street.

Wonderful solo, Blooby.
