Switch Br 1600 to another?

Hi

Just ran into trouble today with my br1600cd, working perfectly the other day, today just shut down while playing. I even tried another power source, flash of lights but nothing !

Anyway would it be possible to take out hd and put it in an identical unit ? would I still have all my stuff?

I need a yes answer ;)

Thanks
John

If you swap out the hard drive, I don't see how you'd have your stuff unless you mounted the hard drive somewhere else and tried to pull files off it that way. I've seen replacement hard drives on Ebay.

Good luck.

Depends on what the problem is? If the HD is screwed, then no. If not, then you may be able to. You may be able to   take the drive and put it into a USB caddy to see if it can be read by a computer or not????

Thanks for the tips..

It's not a problem with the HD at all, the unit itself just won't function so I was wondering would another unit read the data on my drive if I switch it over..

If there's nothing wrong with the hard drive, then you can put it into another BR-1600 and all of your data should be just as you left it.
