Memory Card Trouble

Hi...So i've been using my BR a fair bit just getting used to it recently and I decided to put in my new 2GB SD card to record some tracks onto. However, when i put my card in...it comes
up with Card Write Error! after "loading...." and "creating song....". I consulted the manual for a solution, which said the card needs to be initialised, but whilst initialising, it stops and says Card Write Error! again...i then tried to create a new song and it said Card Full!...but this is a new out of the box card, im presuming it has nothing on it as it is new out the plastic?...also with this card in the BR sometimes freezes and refuses to turn off so i have to take the batteries out whilst it is on to get it off..anyone know why this is happening? is it best to just get another card?

It sounds to me like an incompatibility issue with the card itself-i've of others using 2gig cards, but the mbr is designed to use a 1gig card-if the card that shipped with the unit is working ok-then you can probably rule out an issue with the mbr itself
