Hi to all my friends at Songcrafters,

This is my favourite Santana track. I've just recorded it with rhythm Guitar and bass and of course the lead guitar.

Nick

Farrell Jackson

Very clean guitar playing, bass and rhythm! All you need is some percussion and it would be complete. Nice one.

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Love the rhythm, cool tones and smooth listening. I can hear some maraccas and a guiro in there.

We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

Flor'D Luna, Also one of my favourite Santana Numbers, really well played,
as Farrel said a bit of percussion would top it off......

very good i love the laed guitar sound !

I did not know this song of Santan.... it is strange i tis not with pentatonic game, it seemsa. Santan is the archetyp of pentatonic player just a small passage towards 2mn12, it s also  as it in his original version?

Thanks to you all for your kind comments.

To my idol is jahia. I played this song very close to the original.

Theory is not my strong point but here goes.

The whole piece is in the key of Dm or F Major depending on how you look at it.

During the first and second melody statements or parts he uses the Aeolian mode (ie sixth mode of F Major which is the D natural minor).

During the improvised section (where it gets faster) he uses D Minor pentatonic and at one point employs a b5 in conjunction with the D Minor Pentatonic scale.

Could someone correct me if I'm wrong please and also thanks to my idol is jahia for making me think about the theory behind the piece.

It is very nice to give this technical precision because after all,  we are all "more or less" musician and i appreciate your technical précision  but i repeat, your interpretation is very good with a sound of guitar simple but just adapted well

congratulations

Wonderful go at this beautiful song. I used to listen to this album and Lotus quite a bit back in the day. Your playing is great on this one.

Thanks a lot for helping us to solve one of the great mysteries of mankind!!!  ;D

...but apart from that, this is a great cover indeed, the sound of Carlito Santana is so typical that it's not easy make a cover of his tunes.

Congrats for your playing too, very clean.

Alfredo
