MonkeyFest (banner image missing)

Very Ape
Nirvana off of In Utero

So the spirit of the Monkeyfest is all about quirky diverse original songs.  And has been very entertaining too.  All I can come up with though is a mundane cover of a routine Nirvana song, only on the basis that it has the word "Ape" in the title and once in the lyric. Pretty poor effort really.  Shows my level of creativity at the moment.  And apes are not even monkeys, I know.

This is comfort zone stuff for me after exploring my limitations in the Beatles songs. It's the fifth Nirvana song I've covered, if you're counting (2 from Nevermind, 3 from In Utero - none from Bleach yet, have to do something about that).  This on is probably the straightest.

Nice to do a bit of guitar bashing though.

Plenty of attitude on those guitar licks mate, can't beat a bit of Nirvana to clean the cobwebs off.
Cool track.

Tangled Wires

Always love hearing a Nirvana cover, especially exceptional ones like this.

This is one of them obscure gems, and I thought you handled it beautifully and really captured both the stuttering rhythm perfectly with your playing, and the angst and downtrodden feel of Cobain's  original vocal.

Very Ape-y to have heard this  ::) ::)

Holy crap that`s rocking. Now you know I love the tone on that guitar  :)

Sounds like a hard one to sing but you sing it well. I don`t know this Nirvana song actually but i like it.

I enjoyed this very much.

You got the sound nailed. Vocals are great. You even got the growl going!
